Tom-I’ve known you for a long time-almost 50 years. Your pictures are amazing! Your love of wildlife shines through in every image. You bring me instantly to Northern Minnesota; what a beautiful place to be. Thanks for sharing your photos with me and the world.

Hi, Tom, I'm a high school friend of your lovely partner, Cathie. She showed me your pictures on your website and they are wonderful. I was wondering, have you thought about digitally transferring some of your photos to muslin or cotton fabric. I'm a quilter and have difficulty finding non-tacky fabric panels to make quilts. I think you could increase your sales if you could allow transfers onto fabric. I've searched and can't find good fabric panels of "up North" or "Mountain" scenes. Your photos would transfer very well. There is a lot of tacky patriotic, eagles and flags, and tons of large deer but not your glorious birds, Boundary Waters scenes. There are a lot of quilt shows and shops that would sell your landscape phots on fabric. (Check out Etsy for what is available now. (I would buy your hummingbird photo as a fabric panel. If you would like to experiment, You could make a sample fabric panel and I would make a sample Attic Window quilt for you so you could see what it looks like. You may not be interested but when I talked to Cathie at Joan German's this past weekend, she thought it would be something that you could explore. My email is [email protected]. if you have questions. (I worked in retail sales and marketing and I saw a winner when I scrolled though your photos. They are stunning and you could open a whole new market if you are interested. All you would need is a way to transfer them digitally and offer fabric in different sizes. Your friend, Julie Jirik Balamut

Tom, thank you so much for graciously sharing your lens and knowledge with us to view the owls near Lake Nokomis. This is a one in a lifetime event for us city dwellers! Thankfully there are people like you that capture these stunning images to share with the world. We'll be looking for you again in the coming days to say hello.

It was a pleasure meeting you at Mary Schmidt Crawford Woods SNA. What amazing photos you take! I could almost hear the elk bugling, the hummingbird wings vibrating, etc. But owls are my favorite and that shot capturing the moment just before the owl snatches the mouse is simply breathtaking. I have seen wingprints in snow, but to see the actual moment.... thanks!

Hi Tom - I hadn't visited your site in while. I like all the recent butterfly images. Wonderful. I also love the red-headed woodpeckers. I searched for them in late May, but sadly didn't find any.
Take care! Keep making the great images!

Fantastic Pictures Tom. You have an amazing eye for color and contrast. In many of the Photos I am left with the lingering question: "How did he get that photo"....the mark of a great photographer. Thank you!
